Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan ‘Ogogo’ dies after battle with cancer

Taiwo Hassan, a veteran Nollywood Yoruba actor popularly known as Ogogo, has died after battling cancer.

Kira Taiwo, the actor’s daughter, announced his death during a live session on her Instagram page on Sunday, August 23, 2026.

The actor’s death came days after Kira disclosed that her father was battling stage four cancer.

Before his death, efforts were made to secure medical treatment for the veteran actor.

Solomon Adeola, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, popularly known as Yayi, was also reported to have offered financial support towards Hassan’s treatment.

Hassan was a prominent figure in the Yoruba film industry, where he built a career spanning several decades and featured in numerous Nollywood productions.
