‘It’s time to make progressive move’ — Umo Eno dumps PDP for APC

Umo Eno, the governor of Akwa Ibom, has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Eno announced his defection from PDP on Friday at the government house in Uyo, the state capital.

He said the decision followed “three months of wide consultation” with critical stakeholders across the state.

Eno expressed gratitude to the PDP for the support he enjoyed during his tenure, stating that it was time for him to make a progressive move.

Some of the APC governors who attended the event included Hope Uzodimma; the chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum and governor of Imo state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi) and Bassey Otu (Cross River), among others
