NCoS releases names of Osun prison escapees, announces N5m bounty for information

The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) has released the identities of seven inmates who escaped from Medium Security Custodial Centre in Ilesa, Osun state.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Umar Abubakar, spokesperson of the NCoS, also announced a N5 million reward for anyone who provides credible information leading to the recapture of inmates of the inmates.

The inmates escaped from the facility on Tuesday morning following the collapse of its perimeter fence due to a heavy rainfall.

“In order to encourage public participation, the Nigerian Correctional Service wishes to inform the general public that a reward of N5 million is being offered to anyone who provides useful information that leads to the recapture of the fleeing inmates from the Medium Custodial Centre, Ilesha, Osun State,” the statement reads.

“The Service urges members of the public to report any information they may have regarding the whereabouts of the inmates at large to the nearest security agencies. All information will be treated with utmost confidentiality and anonymity.
