Speaking in Abuja on Thursday, Soyombo said the council has resolved the technical issues that briefly disrupted its portal in December.

She explained that the downtime lasted about one week and was linked to problems with a former service provider.

According to her, the council has since migrated to a new developer, restoring full functionality and ensuring a more reliable system.

Soyombo dismissed claims of ongoing failures as misleading, insisting that the platform has remained stable since the fix.

She added that it would be counterproductive for the council to conduct examinations using an unreliable system.

The registrar acknowledged, however, that some teachers still face difficulties accessing the portal due to limited digital literacy.

To address this, she said TRCN continues to provide alternative options, including physical registration at its state offices.

She also highlighted efforts to improve inclusivity, particularly for teachers in rural areas with limited internet access.

These include mobile outreach programmes, deployment of help desk officers in tertiary institutions, and sensitisation campaigns in underserved communities.

Soyombo noted that partnerships with stakeholders such as the Nigeria Union of Teachers and state education authorities have helped expand access to registration and certification.

While the council is considering offline integration in the future, she said its immediate focus is on rolling out the mobile app to make the platform more accessible.

She reiterated that all teachers in Nigeria—from early childhood to tertiary level—must be registered and certified by TRCN, in line with its mandate.
