The Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA) says its 2026 employers’ summit will assess the impact of ongoing economic reforms on businesses, employment, investment and Nigeria’s competitiveness.

The two-day summit, scheduled for June 29–30 in Abuja, will bring together policymakers, business leaders, development partners and industry stakeholders to review progress, identify challenges and propose solutions for sustainable economic growth.

Speaking ahead of the event, Adewale-Smatt Oyerinde, NECA director-general, said while recent reforms were aimed at addressing structural economic challenges, businesses continue to grapple with high energy costs, exchange rate volatility, inflation, infrastructure deficits, regulatory bottlenecks and weak consumer demand.

He said the summit will examine key issues, including economic reforms, industrial policy, ease of doing business, tax administration and sustainability reporting, with a focus on generating practical recommendations to improve the business environment.

A major highlight of the event will be the launch of the ESG implementation guide for MSMEs in Nigeria, developed by NECA in partnership with the International Labour Organization (ILO), to help small businesses integrate environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles into their operations.

Oyerinde reaffirmed NECA’s commitment to supporting policies that promote enterprise sustainability, industrial development and inclusive economic growth.

The post NECA to review Tinubu’s economic reforms at 2026 employers’ summit first appeared on The Times of Abuja.
