FULL LIST: Tinubu appoints new service chiefs, replaces Musa as CDS

President Bola Tinubu has approved a major shake-up in the military hierarchy, appointing new Service Chiefs in a move aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s national security architecture.
According to a statement issued on Friday by Sunday Dare, special adviser to the president on media and public communication, the changes take immediate effect.
Under the new appointments, Olufemi Oluyede replaces Christopher Musa as the chief of defence staff (CDS).
Others include W. Shaibu, a major-general, as the new chief of army staff, S.K. Aneke, an air vice-marshal, as chief of air staff, and Rear Admiral I. Abbas as the chief of naval staff.
E.A.P. Undiendeye, retains his position as the chief of defence intelligence (CDI).
President Tinubu expressed appreciation to the outgoing Service Chiefs, particularly General Musa, for their patriotic service and dedicated leadership.
“The President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, expresses his most profound appreciation to the outgoing Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, and the other Service Chiefs for their patriotic service and dedicated leadership,” the statement reads in part.
“The President charges the newly appointed Service Chiefs to justify the confidence reposed in them to further enhance the professionalism, vigilance and comradeship that define the Armed Forces of Nigeria.”
