Abuja–Kaduna passenger train derails, passengers scramble to safety
A passenger train on the Abuja–Kaduna route derailed on Tuesday morning, disrupting movement along the busy corridor.
The incident, which occurred around 11:00 a.m., left several cabins overturned, forcing passengers to scramble for safety, according to Arise News.
Details of possible casualties remain unclear, as no official confirmation had been given at press time. The cause of the derailment is also yet to be established, though authorities have previously linked disruptions on the route to vandalism and scavenging activities.
Officials of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) and security agencies were yet to issue a statement as of Tuesday afternoon.
