According to a statement issued by Lanre Lamina, special adviser on strategy and implementation to Alausa, Attah’s appointment is aimed at strengthening public engagement, enhancing transparency, and improving communication of reforms and initiatives in the education sector.

“In his new role, Attah will lead the minister’s media and communication strategy, manage media relations, coordinate public messaging, and oversee digital and social media engagement,” the statement reads.

“He will also advise on high-level communication strategies and support crisis communication efforts to protect the ministry’s reputation.”

Attah, a broadcast journalist with over two decades of experience, began his career with DBN Television and currently works with Independent Television (ITV), where he rose to the position of manager of news and current affairs.

He has also held several public service roles, including chairman of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) task force on traffic decongestion in 2019 and chairman of the FCT task force on enforcement of COVID-19 protocols in 2020.

In November 2021, he was appointed senior special assistant on monitoring, inspection, and enforcement in the FCT administration.
