‘Sexual assault’: Dunoma Ahmed takes over from Lamuwa as foreign affairs ministry perm sec

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Dunoma Ahmed as the permanent secretary of the federal ministry of foreign affairs to replace Ibrahim Lamuwa, who has been accused of sexual harassment by female subordinates.

The ministry said in a statement on Thursday that Ahmed has taken over since July 23.

“His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President, Federal Republic of Nigeria has appointed Dr. Dunoma Umar Ahmed, PhD, as the new Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and he assumed duty on Tuesday 23rd July, 2024,” the statement reads.

“Born on 15th October, 1968 in Maiduguri, Bornu State, Dr. Ahmed, who has had an impeccable education and meritorious career, has served in various capacities in Public Organizations as well as the Federal Civil Service and most recently as the immediate past Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Youth Development.”
