Dauda Lawal visits UBEC, reaffirms commitment to accelerate educational transformation in Zamfara

Dauda Lawal, governor of Zamfara, says his administration is committed to accelerating educational transformation in the state.
Lawal spoke during a courtesy visit to the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) headquarters in Abuja.
The visit was part of the governor’s effort to strengthen collaboration with federal education institutions and align Zamfara’s education agenda with national priorities.
He congratulated Aisha Garba on her appointment as executive secretary of UBEC, commending her leadership and the strides the commission continues to make in basic education. He also outlined efforts by his administration to tackle the challenges inherited in the state’s education sector.
“We are fully ready to align with UBEC’s programs and initiatives,” the governor said, noting that deepening partnerships with the commission is essential to achieving inclusive and quality education across Zamfara.
Garba expressed appreciation for the visit and acknowledged the progress made by the Zamfara government in a short time.
She pledged UBEC’s continued support in strengthening education delivery across the state.
Highlighting recent achievements in Zamfara’s education sector, she listed the return of teachers from industrial action, reintegration of out-of-school children, rehabilitation of dilapidated schools, and the provision of learning materials to over 250 public schools.
The meeting ended with a renewed commitment from both parties to deepen collaboration and prioritise quality basic education for all children in Zamfara state.
