										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p data-start="73" data-end="265"><strong><span class="hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline"><span class="whitespace-normal">Nasiru  Gawuna</span></span>, the 2023 governorship candidate of the <span class="hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline"><span class="whitespace-normal">All Progressives Congress</span></span> (APC) in Kano state, has resigned his membership of the party.</strong></p>
<p data-start="267" data-end="456">In a resignation letter dated March 29, 2026, and addressed to the APC chairman in Gawuna ward, Nassarawa LGA, the former deputy governor described his decision as “voluntary and personal.”</p>
<p data-start="458" data-end="591">“I hereby formally resign my membership from the All Progressives Congress (APC), effective March 29, 2026,” the letter reads in part.</p>
<p data-start="593" data-end="744">Gawuna expressed appreciation to the party for the opportunities given to him during his time as a member but did not disclose his next political move.</p>
<p data-start="746" data-end="890">His resignation comes amid growing political realignments in Kano, where key actors have continued to shift alliances ahead of future elections.</p>
<p data-start="892" data-end="1070">Sources close to the former deputy governor said he is expected to meet with <span class="hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline"><span class="whitespace-normal">Rabiu Kwankwaso</span></span>, a former governor of Kano state, at his Miller Road residence.</p>
