The nationwide protest against economic hardship organised by some civil society organisations (CSOs) has taken off in many parts of the country with protesters demanding good governance.
The protest is slated to last till August 10.
In the federal capital territory (FCT), the nation’s seat of power, protesters are at the MKO stadium where security operatives are also on ground to ensure safety.
In Lagos, protesters are at Ikeja under bridge, while many have also trooped out in Sokoto state to demand good governance.
The federal government has repeatedly said it was not against peaceful protest by citizens but warned against violence.
