Abducted Kebbi schoolgirls regain freedom

All the schoolgirls abducted from Government Girls Secondary School, Maga, Kebbi state, have been rescued.
Multiple sources on Tuesday evening confirmed that the students were rescued through non-kinetic efforts.
Details are however sketchy, but sources said the government will issue an official statement later tonight.
Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu has welcomed the freed Kebbi schoolgirls and charged the security forces to rescue others still in captivity.
In a statement, Tinubu applauded the security agents for all the efforts made to secure freedom for all the victims taken away by the terrorists.
“I am relieved that all the 24 girls have been accounted for. Now, we must put as a matter of urgency more boots on the ground in the vulnerable areas to avert further incidents of kidnapping,” he said.
“My government will offer all the assistance needed to achieve this.”
