Today marks one year since I had the honor of being appointed as the Director General of Voice of Nigeria (VON), and I am filled with immense gratitude as I reflect on our journey so far.
This milestone offers me the opportunity to express my heartfelt thanks to our dedicated staff, valued partners, listeners, and the stakeholders who have been instrumental in the progress we’ve made together.
I would like to express my deepest gratitude to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for the trust he placed in me by appointing me to this vital position.
I also extend my sincere appreciation to the Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, for his continued support and guidance. Their leadership and belief in the power of media to drive national unity and development have been instrumental to our work at Voice of Nigeria.
In the past year, we have renewed and deepened our partnerships with various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), ensuring that VON remains a vital instrument in promoting national unity and furthering Nigeria’s global standing.
I am particularly proud of our strategic engagement with key stakeholders across sectors, which has strengthened the voice of Nigeria on international platforms.
Our collaboration with the Voice of America (VOA) and the Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation (TBC) has been pivotal, expanding our international reach and enhancing our broadcasting capabilities. These partnerships are a testament to our shared commitment to ensuring that Nigeria’s perspectives are well-represented in global conversations, and we look forward to more impactful collaborations in the future.
Additionally, we have prioritized engagement with our internal teams by visiting Voice of Nigeria’s zonal offices, connecting with staff at all levels, and ensuring that our goals and vision are shared across the organization.
These visits have reinforced our commitment to maintaining strong communication channels and ensuring operational excellence across all regions of the country.
To the entire VON management and staff, your hard work, dedication, and resilience have been central to our success. To our partners and listeners, your trust and collaboration have been invaluable. Together, we have made significant strides in expanding VON’s reach and relevance both locally and globally.
As we look forward to the year ahead, our focus will remain on innovation, partnership, and the continued pursuit of excellence. We will work tirelessly to enhance our services and continue to proudly represent Nigeria on the global stage.
Thank you all for your unwavering support and dedication. I am excited about what we will achieve together in the coming year.
God bless you, and God bless Nigeria.
