Alausa reaffirms pledge to mobilise 10m votes for Tinubu through education sector

Tunji Alausa has reiterated his commitment to mobilising 10 million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
Speaking in a statement issued on Sunday by Ikharo Attah, his media adviser, Alausa congratulated Tinubu on the successful flag off of his presidential campaign in Kaduna on Saturday.
The minister described the huge public turnout at the campaign as a positive sign of growing confidence in the administration’s renewed hope agenda and education sector reforms.
Alausa, who is the chairman of APC presidential campaign council education mobilisation working group Abuja said the Kaduna event had energised the group to deepen engagement across the sector and work towards its target of mobilising 10 million votes for Tinubu.
He said the mobilisation would involve stakeholders in the universities, polytechnics, monotechnics, colleges of Education and all other institutions across the country.
He also drew attention to progress under the Nigeria education sector renewal initiative (NESRI), the federal ministry of education’s six-pillar reform programme focused on expanding access, improving learning outcomes and building a skills-driven, knowledge-based economy.
“A key component of NESRI is the technical and vocational education and training (TVET) initiative, which offers tuition-free vocational training, monthly stipends and pathways to employment and entrepreneurship,” he added.
Citing the ministry’s official NESRI portal, Alausa said the programme had received more than 1.3 million applications, matched 160,000 young Nigerians with training opportunities and disbursed approximately N13.98 billion to training centres and trainees, with payments continuing.
“Other NESRI interventions include the Nigerian education data infrastructure (NEDI), which strengthens education data management; the EduRevamp teacher development platform, with more than 51,500 teachers registered; increased investment in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medical sciences (STEMM); and targeted support for out-of-school children and girl-child education,” he said.
“These initiatives are opening new opportunities for young Nigerians, strengthening teaching and learning, and positioning education as a driver of skills, innovation and national development.”
He added that the Kaduna campaign launch had provided fresh momentum for the mobilisation group to expand its nationwide engagements and communicate the impact of the administration’s education reforms to stakeholders.
The minister reaffirmed the federal ministry of education’s commitment to implementing NESRI, working closely with education stakeholders and delivering measurable improvements in access, skills development, learning outcomes and education quality nationwide.
