2027: El-Rufai, Al-Mustapha, SDP chairman hold ‘strategic meeting’ in Abuja

Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna, Hamza Al-Mustapha, former chief security officer to the late Sani Abacha and other opposition politicians, including Shehu Gabam, national chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), on Tuesday met in Abuja, the nation’s capital to “strategise ahead of the 2027 elections”.

In a Facebook post, Segun Showunmi, a former spokesperson of the Atiku Abubakar campaign organisation, said the meeting to “plan a stronger opposition for Nigeria’s 2027 elections”.

He added that the meeting was aimed at “reviewing the current state of opposition politics and find ways to strengthen it for the upcoming elections”.

“El-Rufai, Gabam and Al-Mustapha Plan Stronger Opposition for Nigeria’s 2027 Elections,” Showunmi wrote.
“Ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 elections, a key meeting was held by His Excellency Shehu Gabam, Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), with political figures including former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, and Segun Showunmi, known as “The Alternative.”
“The meeting aimed to review the current state of opposition politics and find ways to strengthen it for the upcoming elections.”
