APC NEC to meet July 24 to decide on Ganduje’s successor

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has scheduled its national executive committee (NEC) meeting for July 24.
According to Festus Fuanter, deputy national secretary, the meeting will decide whether Ali Dalori, deputy national chairman (North), will continue to serve as acting chairman until the national convention or if a substantive chairman will be appointed.
Faunter spoke in Abuja on Monday at the end of the APC national working committee meeting.
Abdullahi Ganduje, the immediate former national chairman of the APC, recently stepped down from the position, citing health reasons.
Following a meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, and in accordance with the party’s constitution, Dalori was named acting national chairman.
“As you are all aware, the National Executive Committee is the apex body of the party, and so whatever it is that we do now, including the endorsement of the national chairman, must also receive the blessings of the NEC,” he said.
“And during the meeting, if they so desire that a new chairman be nominated, we’ll also accept such a nomination and then wait for the convention where the final position of the party will be made as far as the substantive chairman is concerned.
“So, that’s as much as I can tell you. The suggested date for the NEC meeting is the 24th of July, 2025. It’s going to be here, on the premises of the APC.”
