Badamasi Lawal to replace suspended NSIPA CEO as Tinubu makes fresh appointments

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Badamasi Lawal as the chief executive officer (CEO) of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA).

In a statement on Tuesday evening, Ajuri Ngelale, presidential spokesperson, said Tinubu also appointed Funmilola Olotu as the programme maanager of the National Social Safety-Net Coordinating Office.

Lawal is a former commissioner for local governments and chieftaincy affairs in Katsina.

“To facilitate the needed relief to Nigerians and ensure the effectiveness of humanitarian and social development programmes, President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of seven qualified Nigerians to head strategic agencies and programmes under the federal ministry of humanitarian affairs, disaster management and social development,” the statement reads.

Others appointed are Aishat Alubankudi as the programme manager for grant for vulnerable groups, Aderemi Adebowale, programme manager of home-grown school feeding, and Abdullahi Alhassan Imam as the programme manager of the national cash transfer office.

The president also appointed Ayuba Gufwan  as the executive secretary, national commission for people with disabilities, and Lami Binta Adamu Bello as the director general of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).

“The President expects the new heads of these critical agencies and programmes to discharge the functions of their offices with utmost integrity and diligence so as to ensure that Nigerians, especially vulnerable groups, are the exclusive and direct beneficiaries of his administration’s reconfigured welfare programmes,” Ngelale said.
