Fayose: Without any reservation, I endorse Tinubu for second term

Ayodele Fayose, former governor of Ekiti State, has publicly endorsed President Bola Tinubu and Biodun Oyebanji, the incumbent governor of Ekiti, for second terms in office.

“I want to join all well-meaning Nigerians, particularly Ekiti leaders and followers, to endorse publicly without reservation the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Bola Tinubu, for a second term, and to equally endorse our own governor, humility personified, Abayomi Oyebanji, and his deputy for a second term,” Fayose said on Monday.

He spoke at an All Progressives Congress (APC) event held at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.

Wearing a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) face cap to the event, Fayose stressed that although he supports Tinubu and Oyebanji, he remains a member of the PDP — and “will never be” part of Tinubu’s party.

Describing the gathering as unique, Fayose noted that it brought together all former Ekiti governors, state leaders, and national assembly members.

He also urged residents of Ekiti to unite and mobilise support for Oyebanji in the upcoming governorship election.

Despite his endorsement, Fayose criticised the APC, arguing that it cannot match the PDP when it comes to prioritising the welfare of the people and other key areas.
