Media personality and filmmaker Ayo Adams is set to release a documentary showcasing Ibadan’s rising potential for socio-economic innovation.
In a statement on Sunday, Adams revealed that Ibadan, one of Nigeria’s oldest and most historically significant cities, is stepping into the spotlight for a new reason–its potential as a thriving hub for socio-economic innovation driven by young minds.
“Ibadan: Young and Thriving’ is a groundbreaking documentary that seeks to challenge outdated stereotypes and shine a spotlight on the city’s vibrant community of young innovators,” the statement reads.
“The work also featured candid interviews with prominent young professionals, entrepreneurs, and changemakers, the documentary presents real stories of resilience, creativity, and the forward-thinking spirit shaping the city’s future.
“This documentary explores Ibadan’s rising socio-economic landscape, capturing how its youth are transforming the city into a beacon of ingenuity and progress.
“Ibadan is often viewed through a nostalgic lens as a city of history and culture, but that perspective overlooks the groundbreaking innovation happening here today.
“With this documentary, we aim to challenge perceptions, elevate Ibadan’s profile, and showcase how its young people are carving out a space for the city on the global stage.
“The documentary also look into key industries and projects driving economic growth in Ibadan, ranging from technology startups to grassroots social enterprises.
“By spotlighting these stories, the work hopes to inspire local and international investors to tap into the city’s untapped potential while celebrating the talent and creativity of its young population.”
The documentary is set for release this December.
