NECO disowns fake Facebook account, cautions candidates, parents against scammers

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has disowned a fake Facebook account opened in the name of the Dantani Wushishi, its registrar and chief executive officer (CEO), aimed at defrauding unsuspecting members of the public.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Azeez Sani, spokesperson for NECO, said security agents have been alerted to the activities of fraudsters behind the Facebook account.

“The Council wishes to draw the attention of the public to the existence of this fake Facebook Account in order to avoid being swindled by the fraudsters,” the statement reads.

“Meanwhile, security agents have been informed to take appropriate action against the perpetrators of this fraudulent act.”
