Nwifuru approves N75k minimum wage for Ebonyi civil servants

Nwifuru said the approval of the new minimum wage followed a review of the current economic situation in the country.

Francis Nwifuru, governor of Ebonyi, has approved N75,000 as the new minimum wage for civil servants in the state.

In a statement issued on Sunday by Monday Uzor, chief press secretary (CPS) to the governor, Nwifuru said the approval of the new minimum wage followed a review of the current economic situation in the country.

“The implementation of the N75,000 minimum wage takes effect from Monday, October 28th, as this will positively impact the lives of civil servants in Ebonyi state,” the statement reads.

The governor said the new minimum wage will improve the financial well-being of the workers, noting that the increase will help them to cope with rising living costs.

He added that workers on grade level two will receive the full minimum wage of N75,000 while those on grade level three and above will receive an additional N40,000 increase across the board,
