PHOTOS: Makinde woos French investors for Oyo’s agro hub, airport cargo upgrade

Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo state, and some members of his cabinet have met with officials of Mouvement des entreprises de France (MEDEF).
According to the governor, MEDEF, which is the largest employer federation in France comprising over 750,000 member firms, is seeking to develop ustainable cities in Oyo state and industrial agriculture.
In a post shared on his Facebook account on Saturday, Makinde said the meeting was held in France on Thursday.
“On Thursday, 28 August 2025, we were in Paris where we met with Mouvement des entreprises de France (MEDEF), the largest employer federation in France comprising over 750,000 member firms,” the governor wrote.
“MEDEF is interested in the development of sustainable cities in Oyo state and industrial agriculture particularly as investors in our agribusiness industrial hub in Ijaiye and the Rungis-style wholesale agrifood market which will also be established at the Ijaiye Hub.
“They also expressed a strong interest in airport cargo and agro logistics tied to the upgrade of Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport to an international airport which is currently ongoing.
“We assured them that Oyo State is ready for international development cooperation and investments and that our administration will ensure that we support interested investors to establish businesses in our state.”
