FG declares March 31, April 1 as public holidays for Eid-el-Fitr celebration

The federal government has declared Monday, March 31, and Tuesday, April 1, as public holidays for the Eid-el-Fitr festival.

Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the minister of interior, announced the public holidays in a statement issued on Wednesday.

The minister congratulated Muslims in the country for the successful completion of the Ramadan fasting.

Tunji-Ojo emphasised the value of love, forgiveness, and unity in creating a peaceful community and exhorted all Muslims to adopt the values of self-discipline, compassion, charity, and peace.

He asked Nigerians to @embrace this joyous occasion to offer prayers for the country’s peace, stability, and prosperity”.
