Osun APC suspends Aregbesola for ‘anti-party activities’
The Ilesa east local government executive committee of APC had requested a disciplinary action against Aregbesola for anti-party activities.

The Osun state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended of Rauf Aregbesola, a former governor of the state, over allegations of anti-party activities.
The party said the suspension is pending the outcome of disciplinary proceedings against the former governor.
The Ilesa east local government executive committee of APC had requested a disciplinary action against Aregbesola for anti-party activities.
The committee noted that a swift action against the former minister of interior will restore party discipline and deter other members from engaging in anti-party activities.
In a resolution submitted to Abdullahi Ganduje, the national chairman of the party, the Osun APC listed allegations against Aregbesola to include party fictionalisation, i.e., forming splinter groups and parallel organs.
Others are collaborating with opposition parties to unsettle the APC in Osun, and public outbursts against party leaders, including President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The former governor has been criticised within and outside the party over his perceived support for opposition factions during the last election cycle.
Meanwhile, the state disciplinary committee constituted by Osun state exco has written to Aregbesola, requesting a formal response to ensure due process in accordance with the party’s constitution.
