EFCC: Yahaya Bello not in our custody, he remains wanted
Earlier on Wednesday, Bello's media team said the former Kogi governor was at the headquarters of the EFCC, but officials of the commission refused to interrogate him.

Contrary to media reports, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says Yahaya Bello, the immediate former governor of Kogi state, is not in its custody.
Earlier on Wednesday, Bello’s media team said the former Kogi governor was at the headquarters of the EFCC, but officials of the commission refused to interrogate him.
The media team said Bello honoured the invitation after consultation with his legal team and political associates.
However, Dele Oyewale, EFCC spokesperson, said in a statement that the reports that the former governor has honoured its invitation was not true.
“Media reports today that a former Governor of Kogi State, Mr. Yahaya Bello is in the holding facility of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, is incorrect,” the statement reads.
“The Commission wishes to state that Bello is not in its custody.
“Bello, already declared wanted by the Commission for alleged N80.2billion money laundering charges, remains wanted with a subsisting warrant for his arrest.”
