EFCC arrests three suspects for vote buying in Anambra

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested three persons suspected of vote buying in different parts of Anambra state during the governorship election.
In a statement issued on its X handle, EFCC said the suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
“The suspects are Emeka Ilokasia, arrested at Ward 2, Njikoka Local government, Anambra; Nwachuwu Loretta, arrested at Ward 2 (008), Awkuzu, Oyi local government and Emuka Chuwudi, arrested at Umunachi village, Dukonukofia local government,” the statement reads.
“All the suspects were arrested while participating in the governorship election held on Saturday, November 8, 2025.”
Chukwuma Soludo, governor of Anambra, and candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA, is seeking a re-election in the poll, that has George Moghalu, candidate of the Labour Party (LP) and Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the main contenders.
