APC forum commends Abba Yusuf over Garo’s appointment as Kano deputy governor

A political pressure group within the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Emerging Progressives Leaders’ Forum (EPLF), has commended Governor Abba Yusuf, governor of Kano, for what it described as a strategic move in selecting Murtala Sule Garo as his deputy.
Garo, a former commissioner for local government affairs in Kano, was described by the group as a seasoned administrator with extensive knowledge of governance and party structures.
In a statement issued by its national coordinator, Hafiz Idris, the forum said the appointment reflects a clear understanding of Kano’s political landscape and the need for experienced leadership to strengthen governance.
The group highlighted Garo’s record in public service, citing his administrative competence, loyalty to party ideals, and ability to deliver results.
It added that his contributions to the growth of the APC in Kano remain significant, portraying him as a dependable figure within the party.
According to the forum, Garo’s emergence is expected to promote unity among party members, bridge internal divisions, and enhance cohesion ahead of future political engagements.
The statement also noted that Garo’s grassroots connections and political experience would help consolidate governance efforts while strengthening the party’s influence in Kano.
The forum called on party members to support the new deputy governor, stressing that collective backing is necessary to sustain progress and achieve shared political goals.
It further expressed optimism that the partnership between Yusuf and Garo would usher in greater stability, inclusiveness, and effective leadership in the state.
