Federal fire service renews commitment to patronising locally made products

Jaji Abdulganiyu, controller general of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), says the service is committed to prioritising the procurement and utilisation of locally made products.
Jaji spoke on Thursday during a product presentation held at the service headquarters Abuja and also reiterated the service’s commitment to taking human health and environmental safety into consideration in its operations.
The presentation was conducted by Peter Ojiaka, chairman of JK Peace Group, a Nigerian company focused on innovative fire safety solutions.
The JK Peace Group presented a locally manufactured, chlorine-free foam compound that is environmentally safe and non-toxic to humans, specifically formulated for effective fire suppression.
Ojiaka noted that the product is already gaining traction, with patronage from agencies such as the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Anambra State Fire Service, and interest from international markets, including Germany.
The fire service controller general applauded the initiative and assured the company of the service’s willingness to support indigenous innovations, particularly those that align with global safety standards.
He emphasised the importance of economic growth through local production, encouraging other agencies to follow suit in embracing homegrown solutions.
