Solomon Adeola congratulates Alake on emergence as Ogun Council of Obas chairman
Solomon Adeola, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Ogun state, popularly known as Yayi, has congratulated the Alake and paramount ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, on his inauguration as the chairman of the Ogun State Council of Obas.
Alake’s emergence followed the expiration of the tenure of the Olu of Ilaro, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, as chairman of the council.
The Ogun State Council of Obas serves as an important advisory body to the government on matters related to the state’s socio-economic development.
The inauguration ceremony took place on Wednesday at the Oba’s complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, and was officiated by Dapo Abiodun, the governor of Ogun.
The event was also attended by traditional rulers from all 20 LGAs in Ogun.
In a congratulatory message, the APC candidate noted that the appointment is a testament to Oba Gbadebo’s wealth of experience, wisdom and longstanding commitment to the peace, unity and development of Egbaland and Ogun state.
He expressed confidence that Oba Gbadebo’s leadership would strengthen collaboration between traditional institutions and government while promoting peace, unity and development across the state.
He prayed that Almighty God would grant the Alake greater wisdom, sound health, strength and long life in his new role.
“We heartily congratulate our revered royal father, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, CFR, on his inauguration as the new Chairman of the Ogun State Council of Obas,” the congratulatory message reads.
“Kabiyesi remains a highly respected traditional ruler and custodian of our cherished culture, traditions and values.
“We are confident that his wealth of experience, fatherly disposition and commitment to the progress of our people will further strengthen the Council and enhance the important role of our traditional institutions in the development of Ogun State.”
