inDrive ranks second globally in ride-hailing app downloads for fourth straight year

inDrive, a global mobility and urban services platform operating in 48 countries, has ranked as the world’s second-most-downloaded ride-hailing application for the fourth consecutive year.
The ranking was disclosed in the latest report by Sensor Tower, a market intelligence firm, and was driven by strong global adoption, including growing momentum across Africa and continued growth in Nigeria.
The report also showed that inDrive placed fourth globally in the travel category by downloads, moving up from fifth position in 2024, as the company continues its transition into a super app.
The inDrive application, which operates a peer-to-peer pricing model that allows drivers and riders to mutually agree on fares, has now been downloaded more than 400 million times since launch. The platform is available in 1,065 cities worldwide and has facilitated over eight billion transactions.
According to Sensor Tower, inDrive ranked number one in the travel category by downloads in nine countries, with Peru and Pakistan newly joining the list. The platform also placed among the top three most downloaded travel applications in 22 countries.
In 2025, the company accelerated its expansion beyond ride-hailing by rolling out additional services, including intercity transportation, courier services, grocery delivery and financial services, as part of its push to become a multi-service super app.
The expansion, the firm said, is designed to increase user engagement by meeting more everyday needs through a single platform.
Technology such as artificial intelligence and advanced analytics plays a central role in supporting the shift. Machine-learning tools are being deployed to address mapping gaps, improve estimated time of arrival accuracy and personalise service offerings through predictive analytics.
Despite the use of advanced technology, the company said users continue to retain full control over pricing decisions, in line with inDrive’s peer-to-peer and fairness-driven model.
The report noted that super app ecosystems are emerging as a key growth driver in the global ride-hailing industry, particularly in emerging markets where users increasingly rely on a single platform for multiple services.
Commenting on the ranking, Arsen Tomsky, founder and chief executive officer of inDrive, said the company’s continued performance reflects a broader shift toward multi-service platforms that deliver everyday value while remaining responsive to local market needs.
“Maintaining our position as the world’s second most downloaded ride-hailing app for a fourth consecutive year is a powerful validation of the value inDrive delivers to its users every day,” Tomsky said.
“This recognition reflects the trust people place in our platform and the continued dedication of our global team.
“As inDrive evolves into a super app, we remain focused on our core principles of fairness, transparency and user choice, while expanding access to services that make a meaningful difference in people’s daily lives.”
