Nigerian fashion brand, I.N. Official, has partnered Meta to launch the “first-ever Artificial Intelligence-powered fashion collection” at the Africa Fashion Week London.

In a statement issued on Friday, Balkissa Idé Siddo, Meta’s public policy director for Sub-Saharan Africa, said the unveiling of the Fall/Winter 2025 collection, tagged. “Transcendence” will be held on Saturday, August 9.

She said the collection was developed with the aid of Meta AI’s creative technologies, from the concept stage through design and visualisation.

Idé Siddo said the collaboration marked a significant step in redefining how fashion is conceived and developed, using accessible AI tools to push boundaries in creative expression.

“We are excited to see how Meta AI is powering bold new expressions of African fashion on a global stage,” she said.

“This collection shows how Meta AI; available in apps people use every day like WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and Messenger goes beyond being a tool.

“It becomes part of the creative process, helping every creator dream bigger, build faster and bring new ideas to life.”

According to her, the partnership highlights the increasing role of African creativity in shaping global narratives.

Ifeanyi Nwune,  creative director of I.N. Official, said the partnership allowed for the exploration of fashion through a fusion of technology and culture.

“With Meta AI, we are transcending into an African future fuelled by unity, creativity, and technology,” he said.

Nwune said that Meta AI’s “Imagine” feature was instrumental in generating image prompts that served as mood boards for the designs, including one blending the traditional Agbada with the Japanese Hakama style.

He added that Meta AI also assisted in suggesting functional yet artistic accessories for both men’s and women’s fashion, based on specific keywords used during the creative process.

Founded in 2012, I.N. Official is known for its influence among young creatives and its high-powered collaborations within and outside Africa.

Meta described its AI assistant as the world’s most accessible, integrated across platforms such as WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, Messenger and meta.ai, to support learning, creativity and everyday productivity.

The collaboration, according to the company, reaffirms Meta’s commitment to empowering African creatives with tools that enable them to reach and engage global audiences.
