IICHSOSA holds maiden reunion, inaugurates renovated classrooms

The Idogo/Ipaja Community High School Old Students Association (IICHSOSA) has held its maiden reunion ceremony and commissioned three blocks of refurbished classrooms at the school.
The event marked a major milestone for the association and underscored the alumni’s commitment to improving infrastructure and learning conditions at their alma mater.
Speaking at the ceremony, Muyiwa Adesanya, president of IICHSOSA, thanked old students, donors and diaspora members whose contributions made the reunion and rehabilitation project possible.
Adesanya said the refurbished classrooms reflected the enduring bond among alumni and their shared resolve to support the growth and development of the school.
The ceremony attracted several dignitaries, including Latifat Bolanle Ajayi, deputy speaker of the Ogun state house of assembly; Oba Saheed Olubiyi, the Onidogo of Idogoland; Oluwaseyi Ogunyinka; and Stephen Oluseyi.
A highlight of the event was a reunion lecture delivered by Joseph Akoki, a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), titled “Celebrating our journey – The power of alumni network.”
Akoki said strong alumni networks play a critical role in institutional development, mentorship and community upliftment.
The event also drew a large turnout of old students, former and serving principals, teachers, current students and members of the host community.
Earlier, Oyewole Fagboun, chairman of the board of trustees of IICHSOSA, welcomed guests and reaffirmed the board’s commitment to sustaining the association’s legacy and progress.
In a vote of thanks, Agbede Olayinka, general secretary and chairman of the media and publicity committee, expressed appreciation to dignitaries, donors, volunteers and stakeholders for supporting the maiden reunion and commissioning ceremony.
The association said it would continue to partner with stakeholders to improve infrastructure, promote academic excellence and drive the overall development of Idogo/Ipaja Community High School.
