Peace icons summit: Nigeria, Rwanda to deepen ties as Kigali prepares to host 1,000 African delegates

Kingsley Amafibe, the project director of the 100 most notable peace icons Africa and peace ambassador’s agency, has met with Christophe Bazivamo, the Rwandan ambassador to Nigeria, ahead of the 100 most notable Africans leadership and business summit 2025 in Kigali.
According to a statement issued by Amafibe, discussion during the meeting focused on ways Nigeria and Rwanda can leverage their age-long diplomatic relations to build investors’ confidence.
The summit, which is scheduled to be held between July 4 and 6, is being organised by the Davdan Peace and Advocacy foundation.

Bazivamo appreciated peace ambassador’s agency for choosing Rwanda for the hosting of the summit, which is expected to have over a thousand delegates from across Africa.
“Kigali is a city for all and is open to welcome tourists ready to explore the alluring and serene nature of the city for various classes of events,” the Rwandan ambassador said.
He noted that the presence of the delegates will have a huge impact on the city’s economy and create opportunities for the hospitality industry and small businesses to make profits.
The summit promotes cross-border initiatives that allow Africa nations to share best practices in areas like agriculture, education and health care.
Among other things, it is aimed at showcasing and celebrating the achievements and contributions of African leaders and businesses to inspire future generations and promote a positive image of Africa globally.
Among those to be honoured include Mo Salah, Egyptian football star, Aliko Dangote, chairman of the Dangote Group, music star Burna Boy, Femi Otedola, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the director-general of World Trade organisation (WTO), among other notable Africans.
