Tinubu reorganises presidential media team, now has three spokespersons
These appointments, along with the existing role of special adviser, information and strategy, underscore that there is no single individual spokesperson for the presidency.

President Bola Tinubu has re-designated the positions of two recently appointed officials in the State House media and communications team to enhance efficiency within the government’s communication machinery.
In a statement on Monday, Bayo Onanuga said Sunday Dare, who was designated as the special adviser on public communication and national orientation has been made special adviser, media and public communications.
Onanuga added that Daniel Bwala – announced last week as special adviser, media and public communication, is now special adviser policy communication.
“These appointments, along with the existing role of special adviser, information and strategy, underscore that there is no single individual spokesperson for the presidency,” the statement reads.
“Instead, all the three special advisers will collectively serve as spokespersons for the government. This approach aims to ensure effective and consistent communication of government policies, decisions, and engagements.”
The development laid to rest speculations as to who the presidential spokesperson is since the exit of Ajuri Ngelale, who until he left the team was the special adviser to the president on media and publicity.
Earlier on Monday, Bwala announced on his X handle that he has assumed duty as the presidential spokesperson.
“Today, I equally had a brief chat with the Press Corps in the State House where I encouraged everyone to work in synergy without fear or favour,” he wrote.
“As the Spokesperson to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, I promise to work with every member of the team to advance the cause of our principal, Mr. President.”
